Position Overview:

The housekeeping supervisor will be a hands-on leader overseeing the housekeeping department. The Supervisor will lead a team to ensure the highest cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction standards. This role requires a commitment to our core pillar of service excellence, as well as fostering an environment of creativity and authenticity within the team. As a key member of our Housekeeping leadership team, you will embody the Unscripted Hospitality culture, ensuring that all spaces reflect the unique and welcoming spirit we aim to provide for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Culture Building:

  • Lead by example, inspiring and motivating the housekeeping team to provide exceptional service while adhering to Unscripted Hospitality's principles of authenticity and creativity.
  • Foster an environment that encourages creativity, allowing team members to bring their unique talents and ideas to their work while still maintaining our high standards.
  • Support team members by providing clear guidance, ongoing training, and constructive feedback to ensure they feel empowered and confident in their roles.
  • Emphasize teamwork, open communication, and respect, ensuring that all team members feel valued and supported in creating meaningful connections with each other and our guests.

2. Guest Experience & Service Excellence:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring all guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort.
  • Address guest feedback and concerns in a timely, positive manner, turning any challenges into opportunities to exceed expectations.
  • Promote the core value of service excellence by consistently delivering memorable guest experiences, anticipating needs, and creating an atmosphere of genuine hospitality.
  • Cultivate a proactive, solution-oriented approach to resolving guest issues, ensuring satisfaction while maintaining a warm and welcoming tone.

3. Quality Control & Standards:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and storage spaces to ensure that cleanliness standards are met and that each space reflects the unique and polished atmosphere of The Whitehall.
  • Maintain detailed, organized records of room statuses and cleanliness performance to ensure all areas remain in top condition for guest arrivals.
  • Ensure adherence to Unscripted Hospitality’s quality standards while promoting innovative approaches to enhance service delivery and room preparation.
  • Oversee and ensure proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are well-maintained and safely stored.

4. Inventory & Supply Management:

  • Oversee the management of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, ensuring that inventory is accurately tracked and restocked in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Housekeeping Manager to manage the budget and control costs related to supplies and inventory, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain a clean, organized inventory area and ensure the team is trained on appropriate supply management techniques.

5. Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Actively engage in maintaining a safe work environment for team members, fostering awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ensure the department adheres to all health and cleanliness standards while encouraging team members to bring forward ideas that enhance workplace well-being.

6. Administrative & Scheduling:

  • Assist in managing the housekeeping team’s schedule, ensuring adequate staffing levels based on hotel occupancy and guest needs.
  • Assist with performance tracking and reporting, addressing staffing concerns or operational needs.
  • Maintain organized logs for housekeeping requests, room status, and maintenance issues, ensuring follow-up and timely resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in hotel housekeeping, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire others.
    • Strong attention to detail, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
    • Proven ability to deliver service excellence and create personalized guest experiences.
    • Creative and innovative thinker who is open to change and new ways of improving service.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to foster open communication and build meaningful connections with guests and team members.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism.
    • Familiarity with housekeeping software or property management systems (PMS) is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
