What you will be doing
- Ensure that all tax exemptions have been entered into the system.
- Daily tax reconciliations
- Reconcile taxes for hotels & resolve tax issues as they arise
- Assist with tracking tax payments via monthly log
- Taxes paid analysis for all hotels
- Requesting refunds on all overpayments from state/local jurisdictions
- Gathering information needed for tax audits
- Assist with balance sheet
- Assist with business renewals/updating licenses for Sales/Occupancy and Use tax annually.
- Assisting hotels with any tax issues or questions
- Special projects as needed
The ideal candidate for this position
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years multi-state sales and use tax experience preferred .
- Strong analytical and computer skills, with an emphasis on MS Excel.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task various projects to hard deadlines.
