Under direction of the Senior Manager, Surveillance Operations (Senior Manager), the Game Protection Intelligence Analyst proactively monitors, audits, and investigates all areas of gaming, promotions, food and beverage, retail, marketing, special event venues at all enterprise-owned properties. Performs in-depth analysis of data, facts, and related information from enterprise systems or sources such as Statistical Analysis System (SAS) Enterprise Guide reports, Power BI, Ad-hoc, and recurring reports to identify trends, unnecessary loss, theft, fraud, waste, and abuse. The role is also responsible for identifying and analyzing operational deficiencies to ensure the protection of Tribal assets and the prevention of theft, fraud, waste, and abuse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Utilizes databases, surveillance video (live and recorded), open-source tools, and systems under the control of the Gaming Commission to monitor, audit and investigate trends, variances, fraud, theft, waste, abuse, and potential risks. Analyzes recorded and live footage to identify operational deficiencies, mitigate risks, and address liability, theft, fraud, or other issues. Provides actionable recommendations to management for effective resolution and prevention. (20%)2.    Gathers, researches, and analyzes data from multiple systems, including casino systems and Department of Public Safety resources. Provide subject matter expertise and communicate findings to casino personnel and appropriate individuals for timely corrective actions. (20%)3.    Observes high-action play, assesses threat levels, and documents incidents involving criminal activity or Title 31 violations, including card inspections and player dispute evaluations. (20%)4.    Develops and maintains strong networking and data-mining resources focused on proactively identifying and addressing fraud, waste, abuse, and other risks to ensure effective prevention strategies. (15%)5.    Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. (5%) 

EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, or related field required
  • Minimum  three (3) years surveillance experience or related field required. 
  • Minimum one (1) year casino surveillance experience preferred.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Must be able to work in fast paced, high-performance environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to think critically and independently, while also knowing when to ask for help.
  • Ability to self-manage project based upon defined timelines and variable outcomes is required.
  • Must possess intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), commercial database systems, and internet research skills.   
  • Advanced excel skills (e.g., use of pivot tables) is a plus.
  • Must possess excellent report writing skills and verbal communication skills. 
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Certified Surveillance Professionals (CSP) certification preferred.

  • Driving Responsibilities: Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.

  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other
  • office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings,
  • via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
