Duties and responsibilities related to the Maintenance Engineer role:

Refined verbal communication skills

Capable of standing for long periods of time

Ability to tolerate moderate amounts of walking and ability to lift, push, pull up to 30lbs of weight

Unafraid of engaging in conversation with guests

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including, evenings, weekends and holidays

Knowledgeable with HVAC, plumbing, hot water systems, electrical and automated building systems controls.

Love the look and quality presentation of all hotel facilities, be detail oriented, preferably with facility maintenance experience.

Be incredibly friendly, customer centric, love to smile and have FUN in a team environment.

Administers the preventative maintenance program as required, properly completing work orders on time.

Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies are corrected.

Completes training regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines.

Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner.

Reports appropriate complaints or requests to appropriate department.

Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction. 

Maintains security of equipment, keys and supplies issued each day.

Reports lost and found articles and needed repairs of unsafe conditions to supervisor. 

Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.

Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task

The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

The ability to work under pressure and possess a great attention to detail

About you

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in the repairs and maintenance of the hotel, accomplish the preventative maintenance program as directed and support repair and renovation projects. You will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting space, Public Space, and residential units, and will also perform repairs either as part of preventative maintenance programs or when necessary on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, requiring skills and experience in these areas, as well as good communication skills.
