Position Summary

The Front Desk Manager at Wingate by Wyndham Bellingham is responsible for overseeing daily front office operations, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience for all guests, and providing exceptional service to enhance guest satisfaction. This role requires a highly organized and guest-focused leader who can motivate and manage a team of front desk agents while driving operational efficiency and maintaining brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Experience: Ensure every guest feels welcomed upon arrival and throughout their stay by maintaining high standards of guest service.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise front desk staff, providing continuous support, coaching, and motivation to foster a positive work environment.
  • Operations Management: Oversee front desk operations, including check-in and check-out procedures, room assignments, and handling guest requests or complaints.
  • Scheduling and Staffing: Create and manage work schedules for front desk staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.
  • Quality Control: Monitor guest feedback and collaborate with other departments to improve service delivery and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Problem-Solving: Address guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally, ensuring resolution aligns with hotel policies and procedures.
  • Cash Handling: Supervise the daily reconciliation of front desk transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with financial policies.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce and uphold company policies, brand standards, and regulatory requirements related to health, safety, and security.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years in hotel front desk or guest services management, preferably within the Wyndham brand or similar hospitality environments.
  • Education: Associate's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and composure
  • Availability: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
