Position Overview:
The Floor Manager at Sands Waterfront Restaurant is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the outdoor dining area, ensuring exceptional service, and maintaining a seamless guest experience. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on approach to managing a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:
- Lead, train, and mentor front-of-house staff, including servers, bussers, and hosts, ensuring they deliver outstanding service.
- Schedule staff shifts, ensuring appropriate coverage during peak hours while managing labor costs.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, service expectations, and any updates.
- Handle staff conflicts, performance issues, and disciplinary actions in coordination with HR.

Guest Experience:
- Greet and interact with guests, ensuring their needs are met and their dining experience exceeds expectations.
- Address and resolve guest complaints or issues promptly, ensuring a positive outcome.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and ambiance of the outdoor dining area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Operational Efficiency:
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of the outdoor dining area, ensuring it is done efficiently and to standard.
- Manage inventory of front-of-house supplies, including ordering and stocking as needed.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food service, addressing any issues that arise.

Sales and Revenue:
- Support the implementation of promotional activities and special events to drive sales.
- Monitor sales performance, identify opportunities for upselling, and coach staff on techniques to increase revenue.
- Assist in managing the restaurant's budget by controlling costs, including labor, supplies, and waste.

Health and Safety:
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and sanitation standards in the outdoor dining area.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any potential safety hazards.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including COVID-19 safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Floor Manager or in a similar supervisory role in a high-volume restaurant setting, preferably with outdoor dining experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including POS systems, inventory management, and scheduling.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions, as the position is primarily outdoors.
