Houseperson

Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of public

areas and assisting the housekeeping team with various tasks. This role involves cleaning and

maintaining hotel corridors, lobbies, and other public spaces, as well as supporting the housekeeping

staff in their duties.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Public Area Cleaning:

• Clean and maintain the appearance of public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and meeting rooms.
• Ensure that public spaces are well-stocked with supplies and presentable at all times.

2. Guest Requests:

• Respond to and fulfill guest requests for additional amenities or supplies in a timely manner.
• Assist with delivering items such as extra towels or amenities to guest rooms.

3. Support to Housekeeping Staff:

• Assist housekeeping staff with room cleaning and preparation as needed.
• Help with the movement and storage of furniture and equipment.

4. Maintenance and Reporting:

• Report maintenance issues or repairs needed in public areas to the maintenance department.
• Ensure that safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.

5. Inventory Management:

• Monitor and restock housekeeping supplies in public areas.
• Assist with inventory checks and report any shortages.

6. Appearance and Safety:

• Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a housekeeping or maintenance role preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle physical tasks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
