Busperson

The Busperson is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area, assisting servers, and ensuring that guests have a pleasant dining experience. This role involves clearing and resetting tables, refilling supplies, and supporting the front-of-house team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Table Clearing and Resetting

o Clear dirty dishes, utensils, and glassware from tables promptly.

o Wipe down and sanitize tables and chairs between guests.

o Reset tables with clean linens, silverware, glassware, and condiments according to restaurant standards.

2. Maintaining Cleanliness

o Sweep and mop floors as needed, particularly in high-traffic areas.

o Clean and organize dining area, including restrooms and entryways.

o Ensure that all areas of the dining room, including booths and tables, are kept tidy and presentable.

3. Assisting Servers

o Assist servers with carrying food and beverages to tables as needed.

o Refill water glasses, deliver bread or other starter items, and provide additional support to servers during busy periods.

o Help with food and drink orders by delivering or retrieving items as requested by the server.

4. Stocking and Restocking

o Monitor and restock supplies such as napkins, condiments, and silverware.

o Ensure that service stations are well-stocked and organized.

o Report any inventory shortages or equipment issues to the supervisor or manager.

5. Customer Service

o Provide excellent customer service by responding to guest needs promptly and courteously.

o Address any guest requests or issues and escalate to a server or manager if necessary.

6. Health and Safety Compliance

o Follow proper sanitation and hygiene procedures to maintain a clean and safe dining environment.

o Adhere to safety guidelines for handling equipment and supplies.

7. Team Collaboration

o Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure efficient service and operations.

o Communicate effectively with team members to manage tasks and address any issues that arise.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Manual dexterity and stamina to work in a busy dining environment.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a restaurant environment with exposure to noise, heat, and high-traffic areas.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
