JOB DESCRIPTION-ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER
DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Rooms Division and Operations.
REPORTS TO: General Manager
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
ROLE IN SUMMARY: Oversee all aspects of Rooms Division. Assist the GM in the day to day running of hotel operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the overall activities of Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance operations
Coordinate smooth running of activities in the three departments to ensure overall guest satisfaction
Monitor the personnel of these operations to ensure guests receive prompt, cordial attention
Champion the employee recognition program
Coordinate exchange of pertinent information between departments within the Rooms Division and direct exchange of information with other departments, notably, F&B and Accounting in a timely fashion
Schedule and conduct routine internal inspections and department trainings with GM
Conduct comprehensive monthly departmental meetings to include review of procedures and events which warrant special handling and detailed information
Control labor costs and expenses, and maximize effectiveness within all areas of responsibility.
Prepare and submit statistical, performance, and forecast analyses. Participate in the weekly staffing meeting.
Hands on approach in communicating and coordination of all pertinent information related to the expected arrival and departure of VIPs and other key guests, or other special guest needs
Ensure proper inventory level systems and procedures for operating equipment and supplies
Communicate to the General Manager, and other Department heads, information pertaining to Hotel Operations, and their respective departments.
Monitor and control the Room Division Operation in the areas of revenue expenditure, profitable and performance against budget
Work with the HR duties delegate/GM on manpower planning and management needs within areas of responsibility
Discipline staff or seek recourse to ensure that discipline and professionalism is upheld in the respective departments
Participate in Manager on Duty program
Ability to work during after-hours, on weekends and in GMs absence; with duties not limited to overall operational and/or shift coverage. Weekend availability is a requirement

• Holder of at least a 2 year degree AA/AS with emphasis in hospitality or CRDE Certification preferred.
