The Sales Manager - Asia is a key position to proactively identify and capture all opportunities in Groups, MICE and high-rated leisure segments. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the role’s focus will be to highlight Hilton Sydney to key agents, clients and industry.

What will I be doing?

  • Proactively identify and capture all opportunities in Groups and MICE segment focusing on past confirmed bookings (Bring Back Old Business - BBOB) and acquire new opportunities to achieve pre-determined goals for Groups, Conference & Events (GC&E) revenue.
  • Proactively identify ancillary revenue opportunities in all market segments.
  • Assist Sales managers and Director of Sales in collating market intelligence plus all other sales related activities such as site inspections, events, Trade shows and Networking functions as deemed appropriate.  
  • Collaborate with and support commercial leadership team to achieve relevant key indicators.
  • Actively promote the hotel and support by providing advice, support, and training to Front Desk and F&B team members.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development plans aligned with company goals.
  • Identify, prioritise, and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Create strategies to penetrate new markets and grow the company’s customer base.
  • Acquire, develop and grow key accounts.
  • Develop relationship and coordinate activity plans with all relevant global/regional sales offices.
  • Ensure that measurement systems are in place to track the production of all targeted accounts.

What are we looking for?

  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively without supervision.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is preferred.
  • Outstanding team player.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in drafting and managing budgets/revenue proposals; analysing and forecasting results/market segments and rates.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role and tertiary qualifications.
  • Previous experience in sales, with innovative sales initiatives delivery techniques.
  • Strong selling and lead management skills, and an understanding of closing the sale.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, while multi-tasking and delivering work on time.
  • Ability to meet and conduct effective site inspections of the Hotel and facilities.
  • Ability to work productively despite multiple interruptions.
  • Exceptional stake holder management skills to manage multiple stakeholder expectations.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills in both oral and written communication.
  • Committed to delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Excellent grooming standards.
  • Excellent planning and organising skills.
  • This role will have business travel.
  • Ability to travel at varying times.
