Summary of Position:

The Assistant Director of Property Operations-Energy Management is responsible for the overall assessing, preparing, and monitoring of plans to reduce the resort’s energy consumption. In addition to select project supervising and processing of maintenance management software programs, this position will assist the ADOPO with managing of the resort’s facility contract services.

Essential Functions:

  • Review and monitor all electric, gas, and water utility bills.
  • Prepare monthly recap report for all resort utilities, comparing consumption and year to year cost analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for energy and water consumption reduction throughout the resort, in order to prepare proposals with costs and ROI for utility reduction opportunities.
  • Monitor and adjust all HVAC equipment operating schedules via the Energy Management System, to maximize guest comfort without waste.
  • Manage all resort facility service contracts, this includes scheduling service times with various vendors based on our resort occupancy.
  • Manage all resort facility service agreements and annual renewals.
  • Ensure all facility service contracts have up-to-date certificates of insurance.
  • Assist with the administration and data entry of our maintenance management software, AkitaBox.
  • Provide assistance to the Front and Back of House Assistant Directors of Property Operations as needed.
  • Must be immediately available to report to the resort in the event of any emergency which necessitates the skills and expertise of the Assistant Director.  For example, such emergencies may include but are not limited to fire, power outage, equipment failure, etc.
  • Due to the nature of our business the individual may be required to do other duties and special projects as assigned by the Area Director of Property Operations.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Area Director of Property Operations and/or the General Manager of the resort.

Qualifications:

Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School Diploma or any other training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge.

Experience: Experience in all maintenance trades & 2 years of management experience required.

Certificates or Licenses: Arizona Driver’s License with a clean motor vehicle record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of all maintenance trades including HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing.
  • Skills in the use of related tools, including hand and power tools.
  • Basic English language and mathematical skills in order to communicate with co-workers.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping and kneeling.
  • Ability to push and pull objects weighing up to 100lbs and grasp, lift or carry items weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders working at heights up to 30 feet for extended periods of time, often times overhead.
  • Ability to move throughout the resort for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to memorize and perform Resort Standards.

  • Professional Appearance: Exhibits an appearance appropriate for a four-diamond resort (Specific grooming standards are available for review).
