In this role as a Lead Spa Massage Therapist, you will be responsible for assisting with guests’ comfort in a courteous and professional manner while performing all massage therapy services. Support and lead the massage therapist staff in all issues relating to guest satisfaction, safety, sanitation, proper technical procedures and spa profit maximization.

The ideal candidate will have a preferred minimum of (2) years in massage therapy practice or in resort spa as a therapist.  A shiatsu and Thai massage certification preferred. Previous experience in customer service preferred. High school graduate or equivalent required. The candidate must possess ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak English effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to work a full shift (8 hours) walking and standing with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Massage therapy certification state and local. Performs body treatments and massages for guests and maintains treatment rooms and supplies. Ability to work weekends and holidays.

What will I be doing?

Coordinate and deliver training in massage therapies and body treatments, all areas of

cleanliness and restocking, product knowledge and general department protocol.

Assist in product dispersal and upkeep of product dispensaries. Involvement in the interview process of all new massage therapists. Provides on-going feedback to employees on their job performances, quality of work, and communicates disciplinary action needed to manager as required. Propose protocol changes as required and assist in the development of new protocols in the department. Act as a role model in the area of hospitality: by demonstrating timely pickup of guests, delivering full treatment time, consulting with guests by filling out prescription cards and discussing products and anticipating the needs of our guests. Assist in active recruitment of Massage Therapists. Maintain effective relations with all resort departments. Assist in planning and preparation for all scheduled staff meetings. Responsible for knowing all technical procedures for the department, including the Spa reservation system. Assist with ensuring Massage Technician Permits are current. Maintain open communication with staff being receptive to personal feedback from staff and management. Ensure equipment is in safe working order. Support spa sales team for maximization of scheduling when groups are booked. Coordinate on-site new product knowledge training sessions. Ensures coverage for call-offs and short staffed days.

The hourly rate is $20.73 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
