Maintenance Mechanic

Age Requirement: 18 years or older

Position Summary: Responsible for performing daily and required maintenance on all Isleta Golf Club equipment and machinery while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employee and guests.

Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement

All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. • Keeps equipment clean and in good operating condition.
• Records and maintains a monthly maintenance schedule to capture changing filters, fluids, and hoses to ensure adherence to manufacturer’s recommend maintenance and instructions and notes when warranty is about to expire.
• Records, maintains, and stores warranty information and serial numbers for all tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Records and maintains a “Maintenance Log Book” logging worked preformed, to include but is not limited to: description of the equipment; description of repair problem and resolution; what repairs were made; when work was started and completed; and who performed the maintenance.
• Trains operators on the routine equipment maintenance.
• Carefully oversees all maintenance work to ensure completed correctly and safely.
• Maintains, cleans, and organizes the shop and yard.
• Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
• Ensures an open and welcoming atmosphere that promotes skill enhancement. 
• Greets guests, maintains a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
• Gives basic instruction on all promotions and special events, as requested. 
• May be assigned to drive company vehicle on public roads, to and from Isleta Pueblo properties, and/or other destinations, during shift.
• Occasionally performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of five years of golf course mechanical experience on all types of equipment and vehicles.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

• Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
• Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
• Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.
• Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license. Should not have had a driver’s license revoked or suspended in the last three (3) years prior to the date of the employment application. Acceptability will be determined by Risk Management. Driving records will be checked.
• Working knowledge of reel/bed knife grinding and maintenance.
• Working knowledge of fluid hydraulics, automotive electronics, gas and arc welding, fabrication of specialty tools, gas and diesel engines.

• Must have own tools
• Must be able to operate and lift moderately heavy supplies, materials, and/or equipment.
• Must possess moderate computer skills and be able to operate Microsoft and TRIMS applications and software.
• Must be able to accurately and successfully perform several tasks and meet deadlines under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision.
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must be able to communicate in English and in an effective, informative, and professional manner and be able to convey denials and/or defuse hostile guest situations with ease and tact.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematics.
• Must possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity and respect for individuals.
• Must possess a strong commitment to the organizational goals and objectives while showing the utmost discretion and loyalty to the organization when dealing with confidential information and data.
• Must possess strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
• Must be knowledge of safe operations of tools, power tools, and grounds keeping equipment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able lift, move, and place 50 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to perform twist, bend, pull, push, and crawl regular. 
• Must be able to work in small confined areas.

Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed in an outside golf course setting with exposure to extreme weather conditions such as high levels of heat, cold, winds, rain, hail, and snow with moderate expose to unusual elements such as dust, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Possible exposure to binding materials for plastic pipe, Blood Borne Pathogens, and other materials and tools that may, if not properly and safety handled, may result in bodily harm. Occasionally may be required to interact with hostile and/or angry guests.
