Essential Job Functions: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Ensure knowledge of menu and restaurant promotions and specials
- Describe all menu items, prices, and methods of preparation.
- Use suggestive selling techniques to encourage selection of items that are house specialties.
- Take guest beverage and/or food orders and input orders in appropriate point-of-sale system.
- Retrieve and deliver food and beverage orders in a timely manner.
- Serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.
- Replenish beverages and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service.
- Ensure serving stations is always well-stocked.
- Control guest checks and secure proper payment
- Complete and perform various side duties as needed.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day/night shifts, weekends and holidays.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
- Two years high volume cocktail server experience and one year resort or country club experience required.
Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Language Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate and work well with fellow employees and other departments. Maintain a presentable appearance, behavior and manner at all times. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand for long hours of the day; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, push, carry, pull, or move up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment: Work is generally performed at the bar and restaurant area.
