Summary: The Food and Beverage Pool Supervisor will oversee and be personally involved in all operational aspects of a particular shift in order to assure all service steps are followed and to guarantee every single guest is delighted. The role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of pool service, managing and developing our team, and delivering an exceptional experience for our guests.  Supervise all F&B Pool staff on shift and ensure proper staffing levels.

Essential Job Functions: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Consistently provide friendly, engaging and anticipatory guest service and heartfelt hospitality.
  • Ensure all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in F&B outlets are in place.
  • Ensure designated glassware and garnishes for drinks are available.
  • Ensure all garnishes and allergens are prepared as per guest requests.
  • Ensure the pool outlet layout is properly set. 
  • Review Daily house count, arrivals/departures, VIP's.
  • Correct maintenance and use of equipment.
  • Ensure all department policies/service procedures are being met.
  • Supervise staff on shift and ensure proper staffing levels are met based on business needs.  Coordinate activities of pool area and ensure employees are engaged in providing meals and/or beverages to guests.
  • Assist the pool attendants in collecting soiled towels for laundering when needed.
  • Fold and store chairs and umbrellas at sundown and rainy days.
  • Ability to handle weight up to 50lbs and able to work under hot, rainy, windy weather conditions.
  • Counsel, guide, train and instruct employees in the proper performance of their duties.
  • Assist Pool Operations in implementing and administering established procedures.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the F&B Pool Operations Department.
  • Assist in preparing, adjusting and posting schedules weekly and as needed.
  • Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness. Rectify any cleanliness/organization efficiencies immediately.
  • Complete requisitions to replenish items needed for the anticipated business.
  • Meet with the Chef to review daily specials and update staff throughout shift.
  • Ensure that staff report to work as scheduled. Report any late or absent employees to a manager. Coordinate schedules for staff.
  • Assign work and side duties to staff in accordance with departmental procedures. Communicate additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift.
  • Assist with pre-shift meeting/line-ups with staff and review all information pertinent to the day's business.
  • Inspect grooming and attire of staff; rectify any deficiencies.
  • Inspect outlet set-ups; check for cleanliness, neatness and agreement to departmental standards; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests. Promote positive guest relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services & activities to respond accurately to any guest inquiry.
  • Monitor and handle any guest complaints immediately ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Check the status of all orders and ensure that they are delivered within designated timelines.
  • Submit orders to kitchen and bar by entering orders in POS system. Explain any special instructions with accurate abbreviations.
  • Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Run system closing reports and ensure that all servers' checks are closed before they sign out.
  • Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.
  • Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit to Engineering. Contact Engineering directly for urgent repairs.
  • Maintain regular presence throughout the pool & outlets as assigned.
  • Oversee operational efficiency, standards compliance, and service.
  • Promote luxury guest satisfaction throughout the pool and outlet areas. 
  • Keep immediate pool staff fully informed of all problems or matters requiring their attention.
  • Assist the Pool staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Ensure staff are ready to describe menu and daily specials. Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way.
  • Manage guest orders in a timely and anticipatory manner.
  • Set pool furniture according to specifications. Serve drinks and meals according to service standards while managing guest orders in a timely and anticipatory manner when necessary.
  • Ensure service of alcoholic beverages is in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.
  • Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Process payments in POS system and close out checks.
  • Assist with expediting food from the kitchen when necessary.
  • Maintain the highest level of standards of quality of products and service at all times.
  • Advise managers of any complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all Food & Beverage outlet areas. Maintain full knowledge of and comply with food safety and sanitation policies at all times.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and personal hygiene.
  • Adhere to local and government compliance with health and safety regulations to ensure a clean and safe work environment for guests and employees.
  • Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of accident prevention policies.
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Notify Security immediately of found items if guest has departed.
  • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all guests and fellow employees.
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information.
  • Assist with special and deep cleaning projects as assigned by Manager.
  • Perform related duties as requested by Manager

Qualification Requirements:

  • Ability to understand guest needs and to deliver superior customer service.
  • Proven ability to successfully support the management to motivate and lead a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Must possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding service to guests.
  • Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and be able to solve problems to effectively deal with internal and external guests.
  • Working knowledge of all hotel departments.
  • Ability to communicate in English with guests/visitors, management, and co-workers clearly and to their understanding. Multi-lingual capability is a benefit to the role.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to maintain calm and resolve problems in a busy environment.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of all guests and pertinent hotel information.
  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Interacts professionally with guests, vendors, internal staff, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
  • Must be able to handle extreme outdoor temperatures and working condition.
  • Must be constantly alert for guest’s safety and comfort.

Education and Experience: Proven experience (typically A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a luxury hotel environment) in supervisory or management. Experience as Supervisor in a high-volume restaurant with highest levels of service is preferred. High School qualification or equivalent.
