Overview

Opportunity: Director of Marketing & Digital Larkspur Landing Hotels

The Director of Marketing Digital for Larkspur Hotels functions as a brand lead and steward for marketing efforts supporting Larkspur Landing Hotels portfolio of Brands. This individual will spearhead the brands marketing strategy, identity, creative and messaging, as well as lead extended teams in deploying integrated marketing communications initiatives across partnerships, experiential activation, content marketing, digital, website, social media, PR, paid media and other aspects of advertising/marketing communications. This individual will also work in partnership with brand management and other functional teams within HHM. This role will champion the creation of marketing and brand activation platforms to drive awareness, perception and preference across key B2C and B2B audiences, and connect with other functions to direct activity throughout the funnel to drive revenue and business profitability. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day, hands-on management and execution of eCommerce marketing tactics, strategies, and promotions for the portfolio. The Director will lead and execute all digital marketing strategies and eCommerce activities, working cooperatively with the property leaders in Sales, Revenue Management and Operations to achieve and exceed property financial goals. This position reports to the Senior Director of eCommerce.

Your Focus

  • This Marketing Director has responsibility for the brand marketing program spend related to the portfolio. In this position, he/she will be responsible for the content and implementation of the brand-wide marketing plan and support all brand programming efforts for the brands under their direction.
  • The position will develop marketing strategies, manage the creative process, manage photography and video asset creation, manage budgets, develop and execute programs (e.g., brand voice, marketing communications, direct marketing campaigns), as well as advance key relevant segments.
  • Serve as digital marketing lead and execute digital strategy across the portfolio.
  • This individual will be the champion to ensure brand voice is activated at all identified consumer touch points and that system-wide pull through programs are developed and executed in conjunction with key channel/discipline teams.
  • Manage, oversee and lead relationships with brand-level eCommerce personnel, marketing agencies, digital marketing agencies and third-party software partnerships.
  • Drive overall digital marketing strategies including search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), and social media presence and promotion.
  • Maintain active involvement in ongoing and annual electronic distribution strategy and planning in order to maximize online revenue and profitability.
  • Primary responsibilities include the synthesis of information relevant to the planning process, incorporation of input from key business leaders through the planning process, development of plan content, program budgets and results, development and execution of marketing programs, direct marketing campaigns and collaboration on any brand media strategy and buying.
  • Analyze and report weekly and monthly digital web direct, online travel agency performance metrics and broader hotel performance data to stakeholders.
  • Oversee hotel listings and content on online travel agency websites in partnership with the Revenue Management and Marketing teams.
  • Oversee and manage social media programs, services and engagement including promotional advertising and measurement.
  • Direct, deploy and maintain a portfolio and property direct email marketing system and strategy on a monthly/annual basis.
  • Lead and assist in the digital project life cycle through gathering, design, development, testing and launch of new websites and online assets.
  • Support Sales and Revenue Departments regarding promotional and tactical marketing, e-Tools, and electronic media.
  • Maintain clear lines of communication with direct reports, property leaders, internet marketing vendors, internal Marketing team, brand and Revenue Management team members.
  • Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities (conferences, workshops, and industry events), reading professional publications and maintaining a network of industry players.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHMs EarthView program.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Background and Skills

  • 6+ years experience in the hospitality industry, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance and 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related major.
  • 4+ years of experience in analyzing and reporting web traffic and eCommerce sales metrics.
  • 4+ years of experience with managing electronic Customer Relationship Management software and databases.
  • Strong understanding of website and eCommerce production and performance is a must.
  • Advanced knowledge of online booking engines and reservations systems merchandising and functionality.
  • Experience in managing multiple properties and/or accounts preferred.
  • Understanding or previous experience with multiple Content Management Systems (WordPress, Adobe, Canva and proprietary CMS) is a plus.
  • Experience managing and defining transformational strategies for business units
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity

Work Environment and Context:

  • Approximately 20% travel required, combination of weekly, bi-weekly and monthly travel, may include overnights.
  • Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, and weekends.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching.
