Description

The Regional Director, Engineering Operations - South East Asia is responsible for the strategic technical oversight and management of the built environment (the facilities) and the administration and application of the technical operations of all managed, owned & leased properties within their assigned portfolio. This includes but is not limited to technical guidance, direction & support, asset management, training & development, supporting the hiring of Chief Engineers, CAPEX & financial management, aiding with special projects, renovations and improvements, energy & water conservation, and ensuring Hilton and local code compliance. The objective is to ensure all hotels within the portfolio are safe for all occupants, efficiently and effectively maintained & operated, and are being supported technically to meet operational, owner, and guest expectations.

What will I be doing? 

As the Regional Director, Engineering Operations - South East Asia, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Provide strategic technical direction, management, oversight, and support.
  • Plan and implement initiatives to continuously improve activities relating to technical operations.
  • Guide and support hotels with specific technical issues.
  • Undertake hotel visits and property inspections.
  • Conduct hotel technical Audits.
  • Ensure hotel assets (building, spaces, plant, equipment, and systems) are being correctly and efficiently managed and maintained.
  • Work closely with hotels to maintain Hilton standards, policies, procedures, and relationships.
  • Monitoring of hotel technical & utility financial targets, ensuring costs are kept within agreed limits.
  • Provide guidance and support with Capex planning and implementation.
  • Produce feasibility and evaluation studies.
  • Develop and manage programs aimed at energy & water conservation.
  • Monitor and ensure LightStay data is being maintained correctly and that hotels are compliant.
  • Development of technical manuals and guides.
  • Provide regular technical reports and updates to senior management.
  • Work with and support other corporate departments on specific projects, committees, initiatives or issues.
  • Assist hotels with the review and interview process of potential Chief Engineers.
  • Initiate technical training and development opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of new products/systems/technologies that may benefit hotel operations.
  • Work closely with and support the Safety & Security teams regarding the life/safety processes, procedures, initiatives, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Support owner conversations as required.
  • Attend and participate in interdepartmental, owner, or project-related meetings.
  • Organize Engineering calls, workshops, and meetings as required.
  • Manage personal travel and expense budget.

  • Possess a Degree/Diploma (or equivalent experience in lieu of) in a relevant technical field, with ten years’ experience, preferably in hotels or similar facilities management roles.
  • Possess a high technical understanding of building/facility equipment, systems, and operations.
  • Possess Project and Energy management skills.
  • Strong communication, team building, and leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and at all management levels.
  • Ability to handle demanding schedules and situations.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural or international settings.
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and absolute discretion with sensitive information.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate national and international travel schedules per the needs of the business.
