Job Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for Auditing, reconciling and completing daily departmental paperwork. Responsibilities include but not limited to posting balances to all guests’ accounts and closing out the day’s transactions, running accounts receivable reports, providing next day reports to the Accounting Office. Register guest information and settle guest accounts while providing efficient service and creating memorable experiences for guests. Greet all guests in a pleasant, welcoming and enthusiastic attitude while ensuring 100% guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Audit and Reconcile all daily departmental paperwork to ensure the day has balanced.
- Posts room charges and taxes to guests’ accounts.
- Verify all account posting and balances.
- Verify that all hotel paperwork is correct and balanced.
- Run preliminary reports.
- Process no-shows and close of day.
- Stocks the Front Office with daily supplies.
- Register arriving guests while implementing service standards.
- Settle guest accounts with the ability to make good business decisions regarding discounts.
- Must be knowledgeable in making reservations.
- Greet guests in a pleasant, courteous and welcoming manner and provide service when needed.
- Ability to operate multi-line telephone system.
- Provide guests with information on local attractions.
- Complete daily revenue report for managers.
- Process all credit card daily transactions.
- Resolves or refer to management all guest concerns, complaints or suggestions to ensure a continuous effort to provide superior guest service.
- Be knowledgeable of current room rates, room availability and emergency procedures.
- Be knowledgeable of current groups and property events.
- Ensure management is aware of guest special requests or needs, and that guests profiles are properly noted in the PMS System for action by the appropriate department prior to check-in.
- Log guests wake up calls on the wake up call log an in the phone system.
- Maintain a current log of any and all lost and found items.
- Log any guest requests or complaints on the Guest Make It Right Log and verify with guest that request was received.
- Up sell room when possible to maximize hotel revenue.
- Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures including but no limited to posting charges, completing cashier and other reports, preparing deposit and counting/securing cash bank.
- Verify all sign in sheets and room keys for airline crews are completed and accurate and input departure times.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times as outlined in departmental and hotel policies.
- Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities.
- Provide courteous service to our guests and be cordial to all team members.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Complete required checklists by the end of your shift.
- Maintain a good attendance record.
- Any other tasks/duties requested or assigned by Management
Skills
- Must be knowledgeable in making reservations.
- Excellent inter-personal and customer service skills.
- Must possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to operate multi-line telephone system.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Must speak fluent English.
- Basic math skills and standard cash handling procedures.
- Basic knowledge of computers and software, including ability to use e-mail.

- Must be able to maintain focus in a high volume, fast paced environment.
- Ability to work without supervision, to organize and track multiple projects with attention to details.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- One year Front Desk/Guest Service experience.
- Previous night audit/accounting experience a plus.
