What will you be doing?

As Director of Revenue – Group, Conference and Events, you will lead the maximisation of Hilton Sydney’s group rooms and catering revenue, including all event spaces. The role fully supports the hotel’s focus on striving to be the hotel leader within the Sydney MICE market.

  • Develop talent within the team and continue to grow the team's overall competencies.
  • Maximise revenue performance in line with hotel strategy, using all available tools, relationships, stakeholders, industry insight and Hilton systems.
  • Continuously develop and evaluate the hotel’s revenue and selling strategy, ensuring this is communicated accordingly.
  • Continually develop and improve hotel’s strategic diary management.
  • Control and update hotel’s demand calendar, communicating opportunities and need periods to the team.
  • Provide pricing and space optimisation strategies to the team.
  • Actively support commercial leaders within the team to ensure hotel strategy and targets are developed and focused upon – support both strategic and tactical planning striving to meet and exceed targets.
  • Actively engage in weekly group and event status review meetings, supporting conversion of key events, especially in light of key risk and opportunities periods.
  • Review booking trends and make recommendations for commercial changes as a result.
  • Ensure team utilise all applicable tools and systems to effectively and efficiently support hotel’s catering and group room revenue strategy.
  • Prepare forecasts, identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Directing the development and implementation of sales strategies and setting sales targets in order to maximise an organisation's sales and customer loyalty.
  • Directing the development and implementation of strategies to promote Hilton Hotels.
  • Directing the development and implementation of strategies to generate increased revenue.

What are we looking for?

  • Completed tertiary qualifications in Hotel Management, Business or similar field.
  • Previous experience within Revenue Management, Conference and Events or a background in hotels is desirable.
  • Entrepreneurial.
  • An outstanding coach, mentor and leader, committed to personal development.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with high standards of presentation.
  • Ability to maintain an enthusiastic approach to work, promote teamwork throughout the property and create an environment of trust and confidentiality.
  • Places high importance on achieving financial performance targets. 
  • Manages own personal time efficiently within tight schedules.
  • Ability to recognise trends in data.
  • Proactively seeks out and validates all relevant information when trying to understand problems or issues, and the reasons behind them.
  • Computer literate - PMS, Microsoft Office, Salesforce/Delphi, OnQ desirable.
  • Excellent cost control, strategic and profit generating skills.
