Overview

This position is responsible for protecting all Osage Casino assets and maintaining the integrity of gaming in the Osage Casinos utilizing all Surveillance equipment and floor observations. This employee is responsible for the immediate supervision of the surveillance staff. The Employee must perform all duties in accordance with the internal policies, procedures, and controls, as well, as applicable laws and gaming regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A minimum of one year of casino experience required, an Associates degree may be considered in lieu of casino experience.
  • Surveillance experience preferred.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suites Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Requires ability to use the internet and conduct data entry.
  • Ability to work evening, weekend shifts, extended hours and irregular shifts required.
  • Must have reliable telephone access and the ability to be on call.
  • Must be able to travel to casino sites other than the home site to fill in as needed.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and obtain and maintain an Osage Nation gaming license.
  • Required to maintain a valid Drivers License.
  • Required to provide documents to show the applicant is eligible to work in the United States.
  • Osage, Native American, and Veteran preference shall apply to all positions at Osage Casinos.

Responsibilities

GUEST SERVICE:

  • Provides excellent internal and external guest services, treating internal and external guests with courtesy and consideration at all times.
  • Cooperates and communicates with all fellow employees, always exhibiting mutual respect and consistently projecting a positive, helpful image/attitude.

COMMUNICATION:

  • Makes efforts to keep informed of company information and communications by reviewing property bulletin boards, digital signage, and company newsletter.
  • Reviews shift reports, bulletins, e-mails and other forms of communication to ensure that all job duties are met.
  • Communicates directives from the director and manager to the surveillance staff in a clear and concise manner.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE:

  • Monitors all relevant activities of the department, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the organization and the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and the Osage Nation Gaming Commission (ONGC) are understood and enforced by department personnel.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with other Company staff and all applicable regulatory commissions and other agencies as may be applicable to ensure compliance.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with company core values, objectives of the Osage Casinos, internal policies and procedures, as well, as applicable laws and gaming regulations, including but not limited to, the state-tribal compact, IGRA, MICS, TICS, ONGR, the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control, USA Patriot Act and Privacy Act.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Read, write, speak and understand the English language. Read professional publications, industry magazines/ journals, newsletters and documents.
  • Prepare written reports and correspondence to upper management as required. Excellent report writing skills, detail-oriented, proper grammar, and spelling final reports must be admissible in court.
  • Perform basic mathematical computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.)
  • Must have the ability to learn, or possess prior knowledge, of all casino games, as well as casino related department procedures and various Federal, State and Tribal regulations.
  • Must have a working knowledge of data entry programs, utilize MS Office products at basic (create new documents, open/edit existing documents) to intermediate (import/export data, create templates) skill level, and the internet.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Protect the Companys value by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform assigned tasks under limited supervision. Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job duties and responsibilities.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with managerial and supervisory staff, and fellow employees. Work well alone or within a team.
  • Must have the ability to see problems and avoid situations that could be deemed to be illegal or represent a safety hazard to fellow employees or customers.
  • Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents Osage Casinos.
  • Conducts investigations into all relevant casino related activities through the use of Electronic Surveillance systems.
  • Conducts Performance Evaluations for surveillance staff
  • Operates all Surveillance equipment with a high degree of skill, including but not limited to DVRs, NVRs, monitors, switches, computers, controllers, cameras and digital recording devices
  • Drafts and reviews reports pertaining to observed activities as well as logs and other records, as needed.
  • Conducts observations of all departments and applicable job functions to assure compliance with established laws, regulations, policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Supervises the activities of the Surveillance staff.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and Osage Casinos policies.
  • Enforces Osage Casino Company policies and procedures as well as Federal, State and Tribal regulations, compacts and internal controls through the observation and reporting of relevant events.
  • Reports incidents of sexual harassment, unfair labor practices, abuse, waste, unsafe working conditions and other Human Resource issues to management.
  • Directly supervises the activities of the Surveillance staff.
  • Communicates with the Surveillance Manager Director concerning all important activities of the Surveillance Department.
  • Ensures that Surveillance staff receive adequate training as needed per regulationsConducts coaching/counseling sessions with Surveillance employees as needed.
  • Conducts regular inspections to ensure that all Regulatory requirements are being met by the Surveillance staff.
  • Ensures that the Surveillance equipment is functional and ensures malfunctions are logged according to policy.
  • Reviews the work product of the Surveillance staff to include Reviews, Incident reports, Audits, Logs and other records.
  • Ensures that all schedules, timesheets, Personnel leave reports, are correct and regularly processed.
  • Monitor and requests camera additions/adjustments as needed.
  • Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Must have the ability to follow complex instructions and perform tasks under limited supervision

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch while performing duties.
  • Must have normal auditory and good verbal communication.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift upwards of 30 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly uses personal computer systems and/or other devices to effectively perform job functions.
  • Exposure to second-hand smoke.
  • Evening and weekend shifts may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between properties and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands.
  • Attends regular training conferences and seminars that address surveillance updates and changes, applicable laws and mandates.
