Position Summary
The Building Engineer will both work independently and within a team of
engineers on projects assigned by the Director of Facilities. Given our hotel guest
environment, it is critical that the Building Engineer possess high customer
service skills. Engineer will work with a variety of tools, equipment, machinery,
paint’s, to perform minor building repairs including plumbing, electrical, or
mechanical.
Essential Job Functions
Performing routine preventative maintenance repairs
Repairs minor damage to walls using plaster or compound, and wallpaper
replacement as needed.
Repairs sinks, Shower diverters, toilets, damaged flooring, Window rolling
shades and roof paver tiles.
Performs general maintenance on equipment, machinery, gates, and kitchen
equipment.
Responds to Guest Room, Food & Beverage Outlet, Public Space, and Back of
the house maintenance requests.
Ensures that the hotel's building systems are operating safely, economically and
efficiently
Reviews and completes daily complaint log, meter readings, and projects
assigned.

Qualifications:
Three (3) years’ general building experience to include some preventive
maintenance and basic repair experience in Heating, Ventilation, and Air-
Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and electrical repair; post-secondary education
and/or a Technical School certification preferred.
Ability to climb ladders and use man-lifts; read and interpret documents and drawings;
write detailed repair reports
