The Hilton Orlando is seeking a full-time Pastry Specialist to join their culinary team! This vibrant resort hotel is located in the heart of Orlando’s International Drive and connected to the South side of the Orlando Orange County Convention Center. A Pastry Specialist is responsible for creating, preparing, producing and baking all pastries, breads, rolls and desserts for food and beverage outlets. Ideal candidates for this position will have at least 3-5 years of experience working with pastry in a hotel setting or at a high-volume restaurant/bakery (as well as related certifications/degrees). Seeking someone to help manage production and help lead a team of 10-14 people. 

Shift Pattern: varies with AM and PM shifts. Weekend/holiday availability required.

Pay Rate: $26.10 per hour

What will I be doing?

As a Pastry Specialist, you would be responsible creating, preparing, producing and baking all pastries, breads, rolls and desserts for food and beverage outlets and banquet functions in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Prepare pastry food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
• Draft daily requisitions for supplies and food items
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards
• Stock, maintain and ensure proper storage and refrigeration of an adequate supply of all prepared product
• Develop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus, as needed
• Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
• Display and set baked products on mobile carts according to specifications
