Job Description

Job Summary:

Performs massages to Ballantyne Spa guests. Provides a professional and courteous luxury service throughout each guest's visit to ensure a memorable experience that exceeds expectations.  ***Commission, plus service charge and tips. Also, hourly wage for any trainings*** *** Evening Availability****** On Call***

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administers massage and body treatments to guests according to spa procedures and within the allotted amount of time.  
  • Prepares and maintains the supplies and the treatment areas.  
  • Assists with removal and replenishing of linens daily.  
  • Maintains knowledge of all treatments and has the ability to explain treatments to guests.  
  • Conducts tours of the facility.  
  • Maintains cleanliness and neatness of the facility to ensure immaculate conditions at all times.  
  • Applies imaginative and innovative methods on the job to increase efficiency and service.   
  • Applies education in specific areas of expertise, job related skills and performs a working knowledge of technology.   
  • Exhibits strong dedication and commitment
  • Takes personal ownership in success of core values and core strategies.  
  • Demonstrates the desire to work and put forth extra effort to accomplish vision and mission of others
  • Ability to perform job in honest, forthright manner, treating others fairly and with respect.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • One year experience in body and massage treatments desired or must show a desire to learn and grow. 
  • Must attend product knowledge training.     

Certification and/or License Requirement:Must possess current licenses and certification as required by state, county, city/town.

Skills:

  • Must be proficient in all components of massage therapy, e.g., anatomy, physiology, etc.  
  • Must have the ability to work well under pressure without letting that pressure show to guests.  
  • Must be patient, a courteous listener, and able to show empathy.  
  • Must be tactful in insuring the privacy of each guest.  
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.  
  • Must have the ability and desire to learn and to stay up-dated in the massage and body work industries.  
  • Must possess the skill and knowledge to perform various types of massages, e.g., Swedish, Deep Tissue, etc.    

Working Conditions: 

  • May be required to work nights.  
  • Will be required to work weekends and holidays.  
  • May be asked to work overtime.   

Physical/Cognitive Activities:

The major responsibility of this position is to provide services and treatments to our guests; therefore much of the workday is spent moving about and on your feet. A certain degree of dexterity is involved in most of these services, and all can require bending and flexibility, as well as the ability to lift, carry and push up to 25 lbs. This is a physically demanding position.  

Interaction with guests is key in this position and so requires the ability to listen as well as communicate effectively.
