Position: Assistant Director of Sales 

Scope of job: Sales Department

Main Duties and responsibilities:

  • The Assistant Director of Sales will work close with  the Director of Sales  in assisting in the managing of sales staff to secure and establish long-term relationships with clients.
  • Responds to sales inquiries, initiates new sales, prospects and qualifies leads and solicits potential clients, conducts site visits and answers questions, determines rates, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, services accounts and analyzes lost business for the hotel. 
  • Develops sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night & revenue goals. Works with various departments to ensure requested services are provided to customers. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules, and evaluates staff. Manages the financial aspects of business travel (forecasting, budgeting, etc.)
  • Participate in ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets.
  • Lead and direct the development and implementation of strategic sales and initiatives to include, but not limited to, interacting with guests ,  securing business, operating with  management systems, preparing and presenting statistical and performance reports, and managing financial aspects of the operation.
  • Assistant Director of Sales is responsible directly to DOS.
  • Partner with the Revenue & Reservations team to  determining sales pricing strategies, developing rates, deploying competitive data strategies, conducting demand analysis, and managing market mix.
  • Monitor and develop  Sales team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counseling and evaluation.
  • Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to new Leisure,Luxury and Lifestyle clients.
  • Manage all accounts ensuring  relevant  aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
  • Assist in various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
  • Assist in the development of and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Travel as needed to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition.
  • Represent hotel at trade shows as requested by the DOS.
  • Perform other duties as requested by DOS.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Tourism Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry, with a focus on team management.
  • Experience in leading strategic initiatives and developing sales plans that increase revenue.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with clients and close contracts.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial results.
  • Ability to analyze competition and market trends, as well as formulate appropriate pricing.
  • Experience in recruiting, training, and evaluating staff.
