Banquet Server

The famous Caribe Hilton is looking for their next On-Call Banquet Server.

The Caribe Hilton has welcomed guests since 1949 and has 17 acres of tropical landscaping, nine restaurants, island-inspired rooms, spa, and oceanfront pool complex, all right on the beach.

In this position you need to have full availability to work any shift, am, pm or overnight. We are searching for a team player and someone who is customer service driven to provide a high qualify of service to our guests. You will spend most of your time on the floor with the team working in a high volume environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of Server experience and be bilingual. Union experience is a plus!

Shift Pattern: Full Availability. Rotating shifts throughout the week and weekends.  Work on Holidays.

What will I be doing?

As a Banquet Server, you are responsible for serving Banquet Events guests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Banquet Server will also be required to have extensive knowledge of menu offerings. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Manage guest queries in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner
• Deliver and serve food and beverage items in a friendly, courteous, timely and professional manner, resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Dress, prepare and clean banquet tables, supply serving stands, prepare buffets with chaffers or chafins, label all items and prepare decorations to ensure quality and presentation.  
• Takes food from kitchen to buffets and ensures food is restocked in a timely manner.
• Ensure knowledge of menu and all products
• Serve Alcoholic/non-Alcoholic beverages in conjunction with licensing/liquor regulations for residents and non-residents
• Ensure mis-en-place is well stocked at all floor stations
• Follow correct reporting procedures if faced with issues
• Ensure Banquet Food and Beverage orders are of a consistently good standard and delivered in a timely manor
• Practice Hilton Grooming standards including uniform dress code, cleanliness and personal hygiene
• Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation

• Prior experience working as a server required. 
• Positive attitude
• Good communication skills. Bilingual:  English & Spanish

• Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
• Flexibility in hours as you will be working rostered shifts, based on Banquet Functions, including on weekends and holidays
• Ability to work on your own or in teams

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

• Experience in Food and Beverage department and/or industry
• Previous experience of cash handling
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations
