Under the direction of the Supervisor Custodial, the Lead Custodian, TGO works in a team environment to accomplish daily and weekly duties with the goal of maintaining the general maintenance, appearance and cleanliness of the facility.
1. The Lead Custodian gives direction to the Custodial Team Members on their assigned duties and functions.
2. May be required to operate a motor vehicle. Maintain vehicle in clean state.
3. Conducts a walk through after a project/task is completed and verifies that projects and tasks are completed to satisfactory standards.
4. Responsible of training of new hires and training of safety guidelines to both new and existing employees.
5. Responsible for ensuring checklists are being properly completed by Team Members.
6. Submits recommendations for repairs, painting, relocation of equipment etc. to management.
7. Ensures all equipment is in proper working order and all required safety gear is being used by Custodial Team Members when necessary.
8. Plans and coordinates work schedules to ensure coverage of all areas. Establishes standards and procedures for work of Custodial Team Members.
9. Takes a weekly inventory and turns in a list to the Public Works Division Custodial Supervisor so that materials can be ordered and kept in stock at all times.
10. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
Some college preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in building maintenance and housekeeping required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Proficiency in English is required.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute ratios and percentages.
Must be able to show good judgment skills in all areas of responsibility.
Ability to apply common understanding to carry out simple one-or-two step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
Must be able to undergo and successfully pass pre-employment background check.
OSHA Training background a plus.
