Hotel Barriere Management is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Event Manager who will assist the Director of Events in planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events at the Hotel. This will be a full-time on-site position that demands hands-on work at each event from planning through implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform both administrative and operational duties
  • Handling phone calls, e-mails and greeting clients for Events in a professional, courteous manner
  • Support all special event activity by coordinating and executing all logistical tasks
  • Coordinate and communicates event details both verbally and in writing to the customer and property operations under the guidance of his/her supervisor
  • Attend weekly BEO meetings, noting all items to follow up
  • Send site visit alerts on behalf of the Event Sales Team
  • Coordinate with all the departments involved in the organization of the event
  • Prepare venue for site visits
  • Organize monthly event calendars and schedule meetings as requested
  • Manage relationships with vendors; ensure timely, cost-effective execution of orders
  • Communicate event details to internal departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Guest Relations, and Culinary
  • Ensure event success by meeting deadlines and objectives by adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties that management may require

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in Events or similar role preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Passionate about the Hospitality Industry to deliver the best service and experience to our guests
  • Strong organizational qualities and confidence, with sound communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Google Applications (Gmail, Meet, Calendar, Hangouts)
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Flexibility to work as required by event schedules
  • Must be able to lift, push or pull up and stand and or walk for long periods of time
  • Fluency in English, second language a plus.
  • Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
