Director of Construction and Renovations
We are currently searching for an experienced construction professional to fill our Director of Construction and Renovations role! Self starters with a problem solving and practical approach to projects who are willing to lead by example are welcome to apply.
This is an in-office role located in our Itasca, IL corporate office.
Key attributes include:
- Design skills, understanding of brand expectations and the renovation process
- Hands-on and practical approach to construction and renovations
- Understanding brand, property specific and local requirements for any project
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to participate in hospitality construction, renovations as well as other non-hospitality projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture
- 5+ years of construction and architectural experience
- Strong written, verbal and computer skills
- Organizational skills when managing multiple projects
- Prior hotel construction, renovation, and design experience
- Ability to travel to project sites for pre-con, punch-out and industry events as needed
- Absolute attention to detail
- Practical problem solving skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe, and MS Office programs
Responsibilities:
- Understanding the full project scope, requirements and deadlines as required by brands and ownership
- Establishing a project timeline and communicating the expectations with brands, property operations and vendors
- Communicating with hotel brands on issues and finding solutions
- Requesting proposals from GC's as well as Design/Procurement companies
- Reviewing proposals for accuracy, counts, correct finishes and overall completeness of the scope of work and PIP
- Establishing a full project budget
- Executing the project, assisting in punch outs at the property level, overseeing the overall progress and working with brands to close out projects
- Maintain relationships with GC's, vendors and the operations team to ensure smooth execution of projects
- Understand the overall brand expectations
