Your Role
We are currently seeking a Bartender to join our team and contribute to the success of the Los Angeles Athletic Club by preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and providing food service for a welcoming experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrives to work on time in proper uniform.
- Prepare for opening according to Company procedures including inspection for adequate supplies, procuring additional supplies as necessary, and preparing garnishes, mixes and pre-mixed drinks.
- Greet guests as they enter the bar area.
- Mix, prepare and serve drinks according to approved recipes.
- Orders must be put into the POS system immediately.
- Collect checks/payment for drinks served.
- Assess members/guest alcohol consumption; stop serving
- Report complaints and refuse to serve incidents to a manager as soon as they occur.
- Maintain and cleans bar equipment.
- Maintain records of liquors, beers, wine, tobacco and sundries to ensure par stock is maintained at all times.
- Maintain daily inventory and records showing which drinks and liquors are in the greatest demand. Assure the efficient and timely submission of all required reports.
- Clean and lock-up according to Company procedures
- Visually inspect all work areas, food service and ensure they are clean and presentable to guests.
- Complies with all Food and Beverage regulations and liquor laws, including but not limited to checking ID before serving liquor to a member or guest that looks under 30 years of age, etc.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Assist staff with other duties as business dictates.
- Serves food when business requires.
- Work in all Food and Beverage outlets as needed as business requires.
- Works directly with the Beverage Manager.
EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATION
- Ideal: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in same or similar positions in the Food & Beverage industry
- Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Ideal: Food Handlers Certification
- Ideal: Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification
- Ideal: Tips Certification
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: At least 21 (21) years of age.
- Required: Ability to obtain Food Handlers and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certificate within 30 days of hire
- Required: Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Required: Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers
- Required: Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions
- Required: Visually inspect all work areas, food service
- Required: Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
- Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
- Required: Read and write (English); Bi-lingual oral, speech, and writing skills in and additional language is an asset in this position
- Required: Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Required: Strong presentation skills; convey messages clearly and confidently; persuade and effect change positively.
- Required: Capable of working effectively independently with minimal supervision
- Required: Strong analytical skills.
- Required: High attention to detail and accuracy
- Required: Ability to elicit and accept constructive feedback.
Compensation: Hourly $20.32 USD + percentage of service charge.
