The Opportunity

The IT Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring computer networks, systems, firewalls, and intrusion protection systems for security issues and risk exposures. They investigate potential security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents, staying fully abreast of trends and changing technologies related to information security. They work closely with IT Security Manager, internal engineers, and third-party cybersecurity platform providers to perform these essential duties.

What You Get to Do

  • Monitor computer networks, systems, firewalls, and intrusion protection systems for security issues and risk exposures.
  • Investigate potential security breaches and other cyber-security incidents.
  • Stay fully abreast of trends and changing technologies as they relate to the information security field.
  • Assist in developing and communicating standards for use, operations, and security of network, computers, and data.
  • Assist in daily administration of all company cyber security solutions and platforms.
  • Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
  • Ensure all required patches and updates are applied promptly via Kaseya, etc. to ensure a high standard for our security posture.
  • Monitor security system logs (i.e., intrusion detection, firewall logs, security logs, etc.) and report discovered anomalies in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the change management process.
  • Join and actively participate in recognized cyber security awareness communities such as MS-ISAC or Tribal-ISAC.
  • Perform other departmental duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success and efficiency of the team.

What Qualifies You

  • Associates Degree in Information Technology or equivalent from two (2) year College or equivalent combination of education and/or experience four (4) years.
  • AND Minimum of one (1) year of experience working directly with and supporting network operating systems, cyber security solutions, administration, and engineering. preferably in a casino environment.
  • Prior hands-on professional experience must include Windows server, Juniper Networks hardware and software, and network firewall applications
  • Working knowledge of network Wi-Fi solutions
  • Working knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, and SNMP.
  • Certified in at least one (1) of the following:
  • CompTIA: Security+, PenTest+, CySA+
  • CISM
  • CISSP
  • CEH
  • CCSP
  • OCSP
  • Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA).
  • Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

Must Have Skills

  • Understanding of risk assessment and mitigation strategies within IT environments.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and explain complex security issues to non-technical stakeholders.
