Sales and Marketing Manager (Shared Services) - Salary $75K to $79K

SUPERVISES:

Sales and Marketing Coordinator

The Sales and Marketing Manager directly reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing and would be responsible for working with the Revenue Team on the development and performance of all sales and marketing activities for all property locations/operations.  The Sales and Marketing Manager shall listen to customer needs, analyze information, and create tailored proposals for the properties. Negotiate and close sales deals while meeting/exceeding sales goals and delivering outstanding guest and external client customer service. Perform and manage Social Media processes, including internet postings, influencer events, other events throughout the year.  Prepare Requests for Proposal for the properties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

     Identify, qualify and solicit prospective clients, develop and maintain a client database.

Analyze client needs, negotiate pricing, and offer additional service to help facilitate a successful function.

Prepare proposals for clients; analyzing the client's meeting goals and needs based on prospecting research and consultation.

Respond to client inquiries, meet and greet clients, schedule and conduct property tours to promote and sell facilities and services.

Manage function details and all related activities to ensure clients program requirements are satisfied.

Assist with the execution of the meeting including regular follow-up with the clients.

Maintains proper flow of information within the hotel by reviewing sales work file of assigned accounts.

Communicate client requests to all departments in an effective and timely manner.

Ensure maximum occupancy on a daily basis by performing follow-ups on progress of groups booked.

Participate in solving problems with other departments as required related to business booked in the hotel; including space conflicts, threatened cancellations, and compromises between customer needs and operational needs.

Prepare reports as necessary to develop a more informative database for improved management decision-making and critical evaluation of work activities.

Represent all properties and the brand at trade shows and industry events.  

Present, perform and report on Social Media marketing ideas, events (including hotel and influencer) and marketing for Affordable rooms, and other projects as come up time to time.

Prepare reports as necessary to develop a more informative database for improved management decision-making and critical evaluation of work activities.

Travel to meet with or call-on prospective clients to solicit and book business.

Manage sales assistant in marketing and sales tasks.

Prepare Request for Proposals.

Report on Pace of hotel on the book’s future relationships.

Communicate and organize all arrangements as they relate to client events and functions through events and booking details.

Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 1-3 years of sales experience in a hotel; or a 2 or 4-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience.
  • Hotel experience is required.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience in Opera, Lanyon, and Hotelligence preferred.
  • Experience with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Yelp! among others.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or hospitality or related field or equivalent of 4 years relevant work experience required.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL WORK DEMANDS:

  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
  • Able to lift and move up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Regular and on-time attendance is critical.
  • Hours occasionally exceed 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to stand during shifts
