The Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Associate is responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Corporate Controller, and the Hotel Operations team in varying aspects of financial analysis.   This position reports directly to the CFO and will work across the organization to execute on the responsibilities outlined below.

This position will be based at First Hospitality’s corporate headquarters office in Chicago, IL.

What you’ll be doing…

• Work closely with the CFO and Corporate Controller on management company budgets and quarterly forecasts; “own” the financial modeling component of these processes
• Work with the CFO on preparation of presentations and analyses of varying purposes, including Board of Advisors meetings and other ad hoc financial analyses
• Be a primary point of contact for hotel-level financial reporting summaries and analyses
• Be a key player in hotel budgeting and forecasting processes, including accurate capture of expenses, variance analysis, and ensuring budgets and monthly forecasts are produced in a timely manner
• Review and confirm management fee calculations on a monthly and annual basis
• Work with CFO and Corporate Controller, as well as the Hotel Operations team, on insurance renewals and claims, both at the corporate and property-levels
• Assist with audit requests for various external audits (annual, 401k, workers compensation, etc.)
• Assist in other ad hoc reporting requirements (e.g., lender) and analysis

Requirements...

• Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management/Hospitality and/or Finance/Accounting
• 1-3 years experience in a finance and/or analysis capacity, with a strong preference for direct hotel industry experience
• Must have strong analysis and problem-solving skills, and excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong preference for familiarity with ProfitSword
• Familiarity with hotel financial statements (income statement and balance sheet) and analysis
• Familiarity with various hotel valuation methodologies
• Must have strong communication and persuasion skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and obtain data and information across various departments within the organization
• Strong organizational skills, including effective time management and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
