Purpose: The purpose of the AP Supervisor is to oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of AP Associates and Senior AP Associates to ensure that all company and department policies and procedures are followed, and the AP tasks are completed on time

Essential Functions:

Generates weekly payment proposals, overseeing check production from printing to mailing with sensitivity to any special instructions

Ensures returned/refund checks are processed weekly, reviewing and correcting invoices as needed

Monitors aging of Goods Receipt and Invoices, researching as needed, to ensure timely payment

Handles internal and external inquiries regarding invoice payment or discrepancies

Reviews and approves all vendor invoices/payments and employee expense reimbursements

Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the department

Reporting Relationship: The AP Supervisor reports to Senior Manager Accounts Payable

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment

  • Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 3 years:
    • In a technical role: Requires 3 years of finance experience engaged in delivering Accounts Payable programs
    • In the industry: 2 years of Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience
  • Specialized Training:
    • Training that leads to knowledge of SAP and Basware software
  • Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Business acumen and also has the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of AP planning and to advance the organizations goals
    • Demonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, the employee population and individual circumstances
    • Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments
  • Location: This position is based at the Retail Center of Excellence in East Rutherford, NJ
