Wastewater Maintenance Tech

The Opportunity

The ML Wastewater Maintenance Tech II is responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining the Mille Lacs Wastewater facility and equipment.

What You Get to Do

• Operate pumps, control panels, and other wastewater equipment.
• Perform periodic checks on equipment and systems.
• Assist in routine maintenance and repairs of wastewater equipment.
• Monitor plant and collection system.
• Service and general maintenance of related machinery
• Maintain accurate service records for all equipment.
• Supervise Maintenance Assistant and assign tasks as necessary. 
• Create bench sheets for monitoring purposes.
• Read graphs, conversion charts and interpret information.
• Due to operations and safety standards, strict attendance is required.
• Other duties as assigned that are related to this role.

What Qualifies You

• Ability to obtain Certification as a Class D Wastewater licensee issued by the Minnesota Environmental Protection Agency within 18 months after hiring.
• Ability to inspect machinery and equipment for defects and problems and the ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to read meters and charts and maintain accurate records of operations.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, officials, and the public.
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards connected with high voltage and necessary safety precautions.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be eligible for coverage under the company's automobile insurance policy.
• Must possess computer skills.
• Must possess ability to work independently.
• Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
