In 2012, Aimbridge Hospitality has expanded its portfolio after adding 103 former Jameson Inns to its list of managed properties. The hotels are located in 12 southeastern states and are owned by investors managed by affiliates of Colony Capital. Additionally, a fund affiliated with Aimbridge Hospitality and Argonaut Private Equity acquired a minority stake in the hotel portfolio, reported Commercial Property Executive.
“We are pleased to partner with Aimbridge and its proven team, which has already completed the management transition with minimal disruption,” Thomas Barrack, chairman and CEO of Colony told Commercial Property Executive. “They are a natural fit for this project, bringing the operational expertise to move these assets to the top of their class.”
The hotel portfolio is located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, and totals 7,000 guestrooms and 1,700 associates. In order to manage the portfolio, Aimbridge created Channel Point Hospitality, a new wholly owned and operated subsidiary.
