Banquet Captain Job Description
Location: Hotel Morgan, 127 High Street, Morgantown, WV, 26505
Job Summary
The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing all aspects of banquet events, including set-up, service, and breakdown. They will work closely with the Banquet Manager to ensure that all events are executed flawlessly and to the satisfaction of the guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and set-up crew
- Ensure that all banquet events are set up according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO)
- Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure that food is prepared and served on time
- Ensure that all guests are served in a timely and professional manner
- Handle any guest complaints or issues that arise during the event
- Ensure that all banquet areas are clean and presentable at all times
- Assist with inventory and ordering of banquet supplies
- Train new banquet staff as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager
Skills And Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Banquet Captain or similar role
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of food and beverage service
- Ability to work well in a team environment
