The Banquet Server will set up the room for the banquet event and provide food and beverage service to the guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. The Server will also bus tables, clear, and break down the banquet room at the end of each function.

Responsibilities

  • Set up events by laying table linens, setting tables with china, silverware, glassware, napkins, and center pieces, arrange waiting and beverage stations and place perishable items such as bread, butter, and cream.
  • Serve food and/or beverages in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Securely transport food from main kitchen or banquet back hall on trays to event location.
  • Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and replenish utensils, and refill water glasses.
  • Break down waiting and beverage stations, bus tables, remove dirty linen, center pieces and trash.
  • Retrieve and properly store perishable foods and equipment, clean banquet back hall and organize storeroom.
  • Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Perform side work as directed.
  • Support and assist team members in all aspects of service to ensure a great dining experience for the guests.
  • Practice safe work habits always to avoid injury to self or other employees and report any unsafe conditions to management.
  • Perform other duties/tasks as assigned by management.

Skills

  • Excellent inter-personal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and walk for majority of the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy trays, as well as bend, and stoop repeatedly.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry, move, push, or pull goods weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous banquet or restaurant serving experience preferred
  • ServSafe certification a plus
