About The Bee Hotel:
Located in the heart of Danville’s River District, The Bee is a 47-room boutique hotel. Our Food & Beverage program is dynamic and ever-evolving—from breakfast and lunch service to rooftop pop-up happy hours and private event execution.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead service operations across breakfast, lunch, pop-up rooftop events, happy hours, and private functions. This role blends leadership, service execution, and behind-the-scenes work—from bartending and serving to overseeing inventory and team performance.

You’ll be an integral part of our guest experience, setting the tone and pace for every shift, while jumping in wherever needed to ensure smooth, memorable service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute F&B operations including:

    • Daily breakfast service

    • Lunch service 

    • Rooftop pop-up events and happy hours

  • Supervise and work alongside front-of-house staff—serving, bartending, and setting up as needed

  • Assist with private events as needed (weddings, corporate, social functions, etc.)

  • Manage event execution from start to finish, including food & beverage, setups, timelines, and breakdown

  • Prepare all food items in accordance with ServSafe procedures and standards 

  • Assist with staff scheduling and shift assignments based on event calendars

  • Monitor and oversee inventory, supply levels, and equipment

  • Train new team members on service standards, safety, and hospitality etiquette

  • Maintain venue cleanliness and organization throughout all service periods

  • Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, ServSafe policies, and Virginia ABC laws

  • Be a visible leader on the floor—welcoming guests, solving problems, and driving service excellence

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a banquet, restaurant, or event leadership role

  • Strong hands-on service experience (bartending/serving)

  • Proven ability to lead, train, and inspire a diverse team

  • Excellent time management and the ability to multitask in fast-paced environments

  • Must be comfortable working weekends, holidays, early mornings, and late evenings

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and navigate stairs

  • High school diploma or GED required; hospitality degree preferred

  • Must pass a background check

  • Must be 21+

Shifts & Schedule:

  • Vary based on events and programming 

  • Morning, evening, and weekend shifts required
