Position Overview: The Barback supports bartenders by ensuring that the bar is stocked and organized to deliver efficient and seamless service. This role is vital to maintaining the flow of the bar, ensuring that drinks are prepared and served promptly, and assisting in creating a positive experience for guests. The Barback works under the supervision of the bartender and ensures all supplies are available for the team to perform their duties effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Restock and replenish bar supplies, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and glassware.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar, including cleaning and sanitizing bar counters, equipment, and floors.
• Assist bartenders in preparing drinks, garnishing cocktails, and ensuring timely service.
• Clear empty glasses and bottles from tables and the bar area.
• Help with the setup and breakdown of the bar for each shift.
• Ensure all kegs are properly tapped and stocked.
• Monitor the bar area for cleanliness and organization throughout the shift.
• Ensure all bar equipment is cleaned and stored properly at the end of each shift.
• Maintain inventory of bar supplies and alert management when stock is running low.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting with patrons in a friendly and professional manner when needed.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Assist with any other tasks assigned by the bar manager or bartender to ensure smooth bar operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (such as cases of alcohol, ice, and kegs).
• Knowledge of basic bar tools, equipment, and cleaning procedures.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and work in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, and reach.
