The opportunity

Are you an undergraduate or graduate student seeking an internship in a fast-paced, inclusive environment with real-world learning opportunities? Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a Food and Beverage Intern to join our team at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As a Food and Beverage Intern, you will be responsible for assisting the Food and Beverage Managers with all restaurant operations on a daily and shift-by-shift basis. 

Delaware North internships are paid and can be completed for academic credit. Summer internship dates typically span 10-14 weeks.

$17.00 – $18.00 / hour

What will you do?

  • Be well-versed in opening and closing procedures for all outlets, cross-trained in all operations, and capable of supervising each one 
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings, reviewing daily activities, menu changes, and relevant information for the restaurant 
  • Ensure guest problems and complaints regarding food and beverage quality are handled effectively and courteously, by engaging with guests and reporting deficiencies to senior management 
  • Motivate and train team members, monitoring food preparation, cooking methods, and portion sizes 
  • Be properly trained in using the point-of-sale system, including placing orders, making changes, and authorizing adjustments
