Security Officer (Evening & Overnight Shifts)- Must be Flexible

What you will be doing

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the property, guests, and employees. They respond to emergencies and calls for security and ensure that property policies and regulations are followed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensure the protection of all property guests and employees.

2. Provide a prompt response when dispatched.

3. Document incidents and offenses that require follow-up in written reports.

4. Verify the identification of individuals entering the building.

5. Inspect employees' purses, boxes, and containers exiting the building.

6. Keep a daily log sheet up to date.

7. Oversee traffic at the loading dock.

8. Take responsibility for equipment maintenance and the area's cleanliness.

9. Communicate any unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately.

10. Stay alert, courteous, and always helpful to guests.

11. Familiarize yourself with the locations of first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and portable oxygen units.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provide assistance to employees, guests, and vendors when required.

2. Address inquiries regarding lost and found items.

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior security or law enforcement experience is preferred.
• Effective communication skills.
• Must possess the ability to work with guests to resolve complaints positively.
• Capable of managing stressful situations calmly.
