Practice Hospitality is seeking a hospitable and friendly Guest Service Supervisor to join the team at the Mining Exchange Hotel. 

About The Hotel

Mining Exchange Hotel was built in 1902 as a stock exchange for local mining companies, The Mining Exchange Hotel offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. Our elegant, yet casual public spaces, and guestrooms are all newly renovated.

Job Role

At Practice Hospitality, the Guest Service Supervisor leads a shift of agents to ensure efficient and smooth operations, producing excellent customer satisfaction. The Guest Service Supervisor will perform or delegate essential tasks for check in and check out, providing customers with their first and last impressions of the hotel.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in training and developing of Guest Service Agents for potential career advancement
  • Oversees daily front desk operations and manages daily room inventory
  • Welcomes guests by greeting, answering questions, responding to requests
  • Registers guests by obtaining or confirming room requirements, verifying pre-registration, assigning room, obtaining information and signatures, issuing guest room keys
  • Supervises activities of staff and area to ensure compliance with hotel standards; monitors staff report in/out times
  • Establishes credit by verifying credit cards or obtaining cash
  • Directs guests to room by showing location on hotel map
  • Conveys information to guest by receiving and transmitting messages, mail, facsimiles, packages, etc.
  • Provides concierge duties to guests by answering any inquiries regarding hotel and other services guest may require, such as entertainment, shopping, business, and travel
  • Maintains records by entering room and guest account data
  • Collects revenue by entering services and charges, computing bills, obtaining payment
  • Makes resort and other reservations by entering or telephoning requirements, checking availability, confirming requirements
  • Attends room or group meetings in the place of Guest Service Manager when needed
  • Secures guest's valuables by processing lost and found to the housekeeping department
  • Reports and investigates staff or guest behavior as necessary
  • Conducts pack member performance appraisals in a timely fashion
  • Is accessible for agents at the front desk

Requirements

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent education or experience
  • Minimum of 1-year prior Front Desk experience
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and/or Holidays as needed
  • Successful completions of a criminal background check

Desired Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Previous experience in large family resort
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Enthusiastic and energetic

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stretch and twist

Job Type: FLSA Designation: Full Time-Non-Exempt

Compensation: $19.00 per hour
