The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a seasonal Recreation Specialist to join our team at Shenandoah National Park in Luray, Virginia. As a Recreation Specialist, you will be responsible for elevating the guest experience by creating and promoting company guidelines that connect to the unique experience offered at Lewis Mountain. Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $43,888 – $53,200 / year

What will you do?

  • Oversee daily operations at Lewis Mountain, ensuring lodging, retail, and public spaces meet company standards for cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction 
  • Train, develop, and support team members, providing coaching and guidance to align with Delaware North programs and service expectations 
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to food safety, sanitation, payroll, and employment 
  • Address and resolve guest and team member concerns, respond to inquiries, and maintain a welcoming environment 
  • Monitor inventory, order supplies, track expenses, and oversee payroll to maintain operational efficiency and budget adherence 

More about you

  • 2 years 
  • Previous cash handling and point-of-sale experience required  
  • Experience overseeing operations and guest satisfaction  
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills  
  • Strong financial acumen; analytical and detail oriented  

Physical requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
