The Cluster Commercial Director is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the commercial strategy for a cluster of hotels. The Cluster Director of Commercial will be responsible for maximizing revenue, increasing market share, ensuring the hotels’ long-term success in a competitive global environment, and establishing effective working relationships with other senior hotel leaders in the property and organization. This role provides support and advice to the Area General Manager in strategic planning and overall business goals relating to business development issues of the brand and the hotel, protecting and guarding corporate standards, brand integrity, and hotel image.
What will I be doing?
As the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Develop and execute the commercial strategy across the cluster of hotels to meet revenue targets and business goals.
- Lead and align all commercial functions (sales, banquet sales, revenue management, reservations, marketing communications, etc.) to ensure a unified approach and cohesive direction.
- Collaborate with regional and corporate teams to ensure global best practices are adapted to the local market.
- Oversee and guide the revenue management strategies across the cluster of hotels to maximize RevPAR (Revenue per Available Room), ADR (Average Daily Rate), and occupancy.
- Conduct market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and pricing strategies to identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Ensure effective forecasting and budget management processes are in place.
- Lead the sales teams in driving business for the hotels, including corporate accounts, group bookings, and leisure markets.
- Oversee the implementation of marketing campaigns, both online and offline, to drive brand awareness and increase bookings.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and motivation to achieve goals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, high performance, and accountability across all commercial functions.
- Monitor and report on the commercial performance of the hotels, providing actionable insights to senior management.
- Develop and manage the budget for the commercial department, ensuring cost-effective practices while driving revenue growth.
- Regularly analyze market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the hotel management team on market dynamics and new revenue streams.
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure that revenue opportunities align with guest satisfaction and service standards.
- Lead the hotel business team to achieve relevant key indicators, including but not limited to managing the hotel's continued profitability, ensuring the hotel's revenue and profit, and guest satisfaction to meet or exceed the standard requirements.
- Set clear objectives for business development, implement personal skill development, performance review training, and other training.
- Set pricing strategies and sales targets for the hotel.
- Manage departmental expenses and budgets effectively
- Ensure that all system-related revenue data are accurate and in full compliance with Hilton international standards.
- Respond to demands, adjust, and perform any reasonable tasks and additional responsibilities as directed by the hotel, industry, and company.
Requirements
What are we looking for?
A Commercial Director serving Hilton Brands shall maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- At least 8-10 years of experience in commercial leadership roles within the hotel or hospitality industry, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or cluster management position.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of revenue management, sales, and marketing strategies in the hotel industry.
- Analytical and data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret financial reports and market trends.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience with hotel management systems, and reporting software.
- Good English in reading and writing skills. Local language or Mandarin will be an added advantage.
- Able to formulate and implement operating budgets and business plans.
- Knowledgeable of political, economic, and social issues, and market trends.
- Good communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
