Engineer

General Description: 

As an Engineer, you'll be responsible for preforming general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained. Some categories of maintenance jobs may include but are not limited to any of the following: 

• General Building maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, painting, basic electrical and HVAC) 
• Kitchen Equipment Maintenance 
• Lawn Equipment Maintenance (4 cycle and 2 cycle engines) 
• Locksmith Maintenance 
• Preventative Maintenance on boilers, ice machines, hotel vehicles, and other equipment 
• And many other maintenance  job functions of the hotel industry 

Work Requirements: 

Responsibilities and essential job function include but are not limited to the following:

• Repairing and replacing defective equipment or parts using hand tools or power tools and general mechanical devices 
• Performing preventative maintenance assignments on scheduled basis 
• Maintaining organization and cleanliness in storage and maintenance work areas 
• Completing other special projects as assigned by the Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief or Supervisor 
• Other duties as assigned
• Basic knowledge of painting and simple maintenance operations is preferred 
• General knowledge of machines and basic hand and power tools
• Ability to work in fast paced environment 
• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around during the shift 
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull items that weigh up to 75 pounds 
• Must be able to safely use a step ladder and properly go up and down the steps of the ladder
• Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions, receive job assignments and communication progress and / or completion of assignments and basic guest requests 
• Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends
