Description

A Pool Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a specific area or department within a business. His role is crucial in ensuring energetic operations, guest satisfaction, and employee performance.

What will I be doing?

Overseeing daily operations: Managing schedules, assigning tasks and monitoring workflow to ensure efficiency; Supervising the Team: providing guidance, training and performance feedback to employees, managing daily rota and cross schedule with Terrazza team, lead by example on the floor; Ensuring guest satisfaction: handling guest needs, offering a vibrant service in order to guarantee a positive guest experience; Inventory management: monitoring stock level working close to the Head Bartender & Mixologist specialist; Cash handling: overseeing cash register operations, balancing tills and preventing discrepancy; Profit: knowing your targets, reach them with an eye on cost control.

As Pool Manager, you will have the following areas of responsibility:

Commercial Performance

Achieve the guest experience target; Manage the pool’s budget and forecast effectively.  Review business results - including sales, costs, profit margins, covers, guest satisfaction - and act to improve performance; Optimize revenue by increasing occupancy and average check; Achieve pool’s business plan, considering financials and market strategy.

Food & Drink Focus

Create, develop and maintain consistency in SOPs, procedures and standards compliance; Partner with the Culinary team to create attractive food concepts, menus, products and promotions that drive revenue and profit; Ensuring high-quality, well-presented food and drinks are delivered promptly and accurately; Focus on Menu knowledge in order to provide a tailor made guest experience making recommendations when you take their orders; Make sure that food allergies, dietary requirements and customer modifications are treated with absolute seriousness.

Guest Experiences

Lead your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences, providing authentic personalized service and in-depth product knowledge; Run the operations efficiently, making sure guest receive a friendly welcome on arrival, ensure a smooth sunbeds rotation. ensuring high-quality, well-presented food and drinks are delivered promptly and accurately; Develop great guest relationships, recognizing returning guest and their preferences to improve loyalty; Carry out guest satisfaction checks, taking quick action to improve service and resolve complaints, supporting your team where needed; Enhance the pool’s image through online reputation, driving positive reviews on key platforms (e.g. TripAdvisor, Google Reviews, exc.); Work closely with collateral venues in order to increase communication and operations. Being in charge of event, and planning them according to business and rota; Monitor music and entertainment to create an attractive atmosphere that supports the pool’s concept.

Create an inclusive environment where all Team Members can thrive and achieve their professional goals; Manage, develop and motivate the pool service team, work with the rest of the team to make sure operations run smoothly, contributing to a supportive, inclusive and motivational working environment for all Team Members; Practice great people management, from recruitment to training to succession planning and recognition; Schedule Team Members’ working time efficiently based on forecast business volumes, offering flexibility where possible and minimizing overtime costs; Communicate well and often, building good working relationships with the Engineering  and Housekeeping team and suppliers; Stock & Par level of towel, beverage and equipment; Work close with the Rooftop manager in order to provide the best identikit of new Team Member during the hiring process, and support the Senior Team providing objective feedback on team member;

Day-To-Day Essentials

Make sure pool operations strictly comply with all regulations (including health, safety and hygiene, licensing) and that potentially hazardous situations are identified, reported and corrected; Ensure the pool environment is set up for service, making sure all opening and closing procedures are carried out correctly, and make sure that equipment, guest areas and work areas are clean, tidy and well maintained throughout the day; Maintain operational effectiveness, using efficient steps of service and layout to reduce cycle times; Manage inventory and beverage suppliers, stock control and purchasing, restock and replenish following hotel guidelines; Conduct Team Members training sessions accordingly to target and business; Keep up to date with what’s happening in food and drinks – related on trends, markets, seasonality, competitors and suppliers – to drive innovation; Make sure that you record all transactions in the POS system accurately at the time of order, that billing is accurate and that cash handling complies with hotel guidelines; Make sure you provide a detailed logbook in order to guarantee a properly communication; Give feedback and suggestions to F&D senior team to improve guest and team member experiences.
