 Shocard Hotel is seeking an Assistant General Manager.

 An experienced Director of Operations/Rooms Manager/Director of Front Office will be considered.

The Assistant General Manager purpose is to support the General Manager and assure all operations are coordinated to exceed expectations. This position requires an exceptional service personality with a "hands-on" approach. The successful candidate will also have a proven track record of team building and leadership, superior service instincts, and outstanding communication skills to deal with guests and staff effectively. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Shift coverage in any and all departments when and where needed and assigned. Includes nights, weekends, and holidays if/when necessary.

Must be effective in multi-tasking.

Maintain strong awareness of product quality and condition of the building by regularly inspecting facilities, guest rooms, public access areas and outside grounds for cleanliness and order.

Ensure adherence to company and brand standards and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory compliance requirements.

Ensure adherence to corporate policies and established operating procedures while exceeding guest expectations by providing a safe, secure, and quality experience.

Recruit, select, train, and manage employees to deliver superior guest service and quality products that will lead to maximizing revenue and profitability goals.

Manage the Human Resources of the hotel to attract, retain and motivate the employees; hire, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communications, discipline and terminate, as appropriate.

This Job requires outstanding operational and owner relations experience.

Inventory - tracking/ordering and cost control for ALL departments

Requires highly developed communication skills (written and oral) to interface with executives at all organizational levels - owners, investors, employees, and guests.

Must be hands-on and oversee all departments including front office, housekeeping and maintenance.

Maintains high personal visibility throughout the property and the community.

Have a high standard of customer service.

Lead the sales efforts of the hotel through supporting the hotel's sales team in generating revenue opportunities.  .

Work in partnership with the Sales and Revenue Management teams to effectively position the hotel's rates within its competitive market.

Detail orientated.

STR Knowlege is a plus 

Social Media content creator a plus

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

College Degree or equivalent education/experience required.

Several years' experience in hotel operations in a leadership role.

Previous Manager Experience required.

REQUIREMENTS

College Degree preferred.

Minimum of 2 years' management experience in the hotel industry.

Must be highly motivated, self-directed, with strong initiative and desire for achievement.

Exceptional customer service skills required

FSD Certification will be required within 6 months of employment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5-8 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.

Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally.

Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

Hearing, smelling, tasting, and visual ability to observe and distinguish product quality and detect signs of emergency situations.

Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally.

Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.

Strong leadership and people skills, plus the ability to build and foster a positive team environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and accept constructive criticism
