Job Title: Spa Supervisor
Department: Resort Spa
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Reports To: Spa Assistant Manager

Summary
The Spa Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth operations of the day-to-day operations of The Spa
and oversee Spa Therapists, Receptionists, and other staff members. The Spa Supervisor will foster a positive
and collaborative work environment, lead team meetings, motivate staff and address any team related issues.
Maintains high standards in a luxury setting.


Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises the Spa Attendant and the Spa Receptionist. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in
accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training and
coaching team members to maintain high service standards, coordinating shift schedules to ensure adequate
staffing and managing time off requests.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures all spa practices comply with health, safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitors treatment rooms, equipment and products to ensure they meet required standards.
  • Oversee daily operations including cleanliness and safety by identifying and rectifying any issues that
    may arise.
  • Ensures staff are aware of and adhere to company policy and procedures.
  • Ensures an exceptional guest experience by addressing customer needs, handling complaints, and
    managing client feedback.
  • Assists with front desk operations including bookings, check-ins, and customer inquiries.
  • Ensures all clients receive high quality service and care during their visit.
  • Promptly resolves any operational or guest related issues.
  • Monitors inventory levels of products, towels and other supplies to ensure timely reordering.
  • Promotes spa services and products to meet sales targets.
  • Coordinates with maintenance and housekeeping staff to maintain the environment and maintenance of
    spa facilities.
  • Assists in developing and executing promotions, packages and special events.
  • Ensures correct billing, payment processing and financial reporting.
  • Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports for management tracking KPIs.
  • Handles administrative duties, including payroll submissions, attendance tracking and customer
    records.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Prior experience in a supervisory role in
a spa or hospitality setting required; licensed massage therapist or aesthetician preferred.


Other Qualifications:

  • Must have a complete knowledge of spa services and treatments.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
  • Must be capable of handling difficult situations with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Must provide excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage schedules, inventory and operations.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be detail oriented and understand written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Industry certifications a plus. CPR certification required.


Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus. Must
have effective verbal and written communication skills.


Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate PC skills in MSWord, Excel and
Outlook applications. Knowledge of spa POS systems preferred.


Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods,
bend, lean and walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust
focus.


Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
