Description

The beautiful Hilton Tampa Downtown is seeking a Restaurant General Manager to join their food and beverage team for their new restaurant concept, Che Vita (opening in 2025)! This 520-room property is just two blocks from the Riverwalk and half a mile from Amalie Arena and the Tampa Convention Center with the University of Tampa campus is just half a mile away!

The candidate for this position will have 3 plus years of restaurant general management experience or food and beverage manager experience in a hotel restaurant. Other ideal qualities for this position will include:

  • Strong knowledge of restaurant service standards and steps of service, with the ability to train the team to deliver a polished, upscale dining experience for guests
  • Experience running an Italian or three meal restaurants in a hotel setting
  • Expertise in wine, including the ability to educate and train the team on the nuances of wine service and pairings
  • Ability to be an inspiring leader, set clear expectations for entire team, and then inspect what he/she expects

What will I be doing?

As a Restaurant General Manager, you would be responsible for directing and administering the activities and services of a designated restaurant(s) in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant operations to include, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Create and maintain customer database and partner with Sales and Marketing/Public Relations on marketing strategy
  • Maximize efficiency technology system(s) (i.e. Open Table)
  • Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
  • Initiate and implement up-selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services and to maximize overall revenue, including, but not limited to, creating new menus and cross-selling products and services hotel-wide
  • Recruit, interview and train team members

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to speak and write professional English
  • 3 plus years of Restaurant GM or Food and Beverage Manager Experience (hotel restaurant environment preferred)
