BASIC FUNCTION: The Hospitality Officer will properly execute security duties on assigned shift, to adequately protect the life and property of customers and employees and company property. The Hospitality Officer maintains continuous patrols of the Resort and surrounding properties to ensure the security of the Resort as well as the safety of the customers and employees. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the company’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
Must have the ability to effectively interact with customers and employees.
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Must have high school diploma or its equivalent.
Must be First Aid and CPR certified or have the ability to successfully complete training courses.
Must have good observation skills.
Must have good writing and spelling skills.
Prior security experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Continually patrols buildings and grounds. Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
Warns violators of rule infractions and expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.
Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked. Sounds alarm or call police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment.
Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic to maintain orderly flow.
Writes clear and concise incident and accident reports.
Effectively handles non-guest and trespassers without interrupting the orderly flow of the business.
Ensures that all security standard operations procedures are followed by the associates of the resort
Generates daily/weekly reports as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
Maintains certifications for First Aid/CPR and performs first aid when necessary.
Assists patrons and employees and responds to critical situations (Medical emergencies, irate patrons, etc.).
Performs dispatch administrative duties when needed.
Reports to the Security Supervisor any violations, acts, or situations which are detrimental to the best interest of the Operation.
Uses company vehicle to transport customers from parking lot.
Patrols the interior and the exterior of the resort and surrounding property.
Maintains proper key control: ensures that proper sign in and out of all keys, and maintains an inventory on a daily basis.
The Hospitality Officer has the authority to serve as access control at the associate entrance; and if needed, to check all personal belongings that are leaving the property.
Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
Attends all necessary training meetings.
Assists in other projects, as directed.
